Known Issues of 1.3.16:

Connection:

* Sometimes not all wireless networks can be listed. Restart of set should help. (PR: 2823, 3405)

* With Philips Wireless USB Adapter CPWUA054 sometimes set cannot connect to PC after startup. Restart of PC needed for connection (PR: 2895)

* When firewall is active on PC some manual configuration is needed to get a PC Link connection (see also PhilipsMediaManager Help/About Firewalls)

* When network traffic in the same or nearby WLAN channel then video streaming very likely shows hiccups. Try other WLAN channel for less interference.

Upgrade:

* With some previous software versions the online upgrade takes 2 steps (2 full upgrade cycles). So after 1st upgrade automatically a 2nd upgrade starts. These 2 steps can take up to 30 minutes.

* If network connection to upgrade server is not stable enough the upgrade can fail and the set might boot into "System Recovery". Then the set has to be connected to a wired network for upgrading. After that most probably another upgrade cycle will automatically start (which must not be interrupted).

Registration:

* Sometimes "Final Step" screen (new user) or password entry screen (existing user) does not show up. Reboot of set needed (PR:3031, 3411, 3412)

Streaming:

* Only video files as described in the DCP 1.0 supported_formats_internal.xls can be played by the set.

* Typical performance or playability problems: DivX/XviD with ac3 audio, PCM audio or no audio; video files with too high bitrate and/or resolution; progressive JPEG; animated and/or transparent gif...

* Outside of U.S. Internet video streaming very often causes hiccups or other problems. Switching to Medium or Low Bandwidth needed (PR: 2280)

* When buffering is shown in iFILM movie it might jump to next movie (esp. when low network performance) (PR: 3368)

* Viewing and browsing pictures can cause crash (PR: 3325)

* Yahoo! Photos can cause a "Navigation Error". Disabling and enabling of the Yahoo! account on my.philips.com solves the problem.

* Navigating too fast in Playview can cause problems: title and content might not match (PR: 2542)

* Direct selection sometimes shows numbers instead of letters (PR: 2388, 2970)

DivX MPEG 4 issue with Bitrate (09.11.2004)

There is a large concern about the bitrate limitation of certain video files. Basically, the problem manifests itself with frequent pauses and buffering in higher bitrate videos (certain codecs and codec combinations greater than 950kbps, especially with AC3 audio).
Video properties known to work:

DivX4 Resolutions up to 704x304 with bitrates up to 1400kbps

DivX5 Resolutions up to 512x384 with bitrates up to 1300kbps

CISCO VPN client (08.11.2004)

The Cisco VPN client has a setting called "Statefull Firewall (Always on)" which is checked in general. That means that the firewall is running all the time. You have to check this off and reboot the computer otherwise the PC Link function will not work.

U.S. Robotics WLAN issue (04.11.2004)

All Streamium sets (SL300i, SL400i, MX6000i, StreamiumTV) have a problem with U.S. Robotics WLAN Router USR8054 and latest firmware 1.64b34:

With this router firmware it́s not possible to connect a Streamium set in wireless mode (wired works fine).

Workaround: Downgrading the router to firmware version 1.21h.

You can find firmware for the USR808054 here: http://www.usr-emea.com/support/s-prod-template.asp?loc=grmy&prod=8054
